Jabula Dog Academy uses positive motivation to shape new behavior and commands, creating a foundation for learning. For dogs to learn and to cultivate their desire to learn they need to have fun and understand what is required of them.

For this reason Jabula Dog Academy uses treats, play and verbal & physical praise to motivate dogs to want to learn, while correcting undesirable behavior. It is very important to understand the different developmental stages that occur throughout a dog’s life, the significance of each of these, and how different training methods apply to each developmental stage. In using a balance of meaningful rewards and scientific training techniques, Jabula Dog Academy provides safe, humane and effective dog training alternatives and an understanding of the human/canine relationship. Jabula Dog Academy strives in creating a relationship between dog and owner built on positive interaction and consistency. Jabula is the Zulu word for Happy. A Jabula dog is a happy dog. If dogs are happy, they will learn; moreover, they will enjoy learning.
