How it works

The dog stays with us for two weeks for structured, individualized training. We start with a free in-person consultation at Jabula so we can meet the dog, discuss the owner's goals and make sure the program is a good fit.

During camp

The trainer works on the dog's individual needs and sends the owner updates and pictures along the way.

On graduation day, the trainer runs through everything with the owner, demonstrates the training and then has the owner practice with the dog. The in-home follow-up helps make sure everything is transferring well once the dog is back home.

This is the Foundation Training Camp with remote-collar training and the equipment added.

‍

How it works

The dog stays with us for two weeks and receives the same individualized training, owner support and follow-up included with Regular Training Camp. The additional focus is building better reliability at a distance and working toward dependable off-leash skills through the use of a remote collar.

At graduation, the trainer shows the owner how to use the remote collar correctly and has them practice with their dog. The follow-up lesson gives us a chance to check that the equipment and training are being used comfortably and consistently at home.

A very structured two-week program focused on routines, puppy basics and age-appropriate socialization.

‍

How it works

The puppy stays under the trainer's care for two weeks and follows a planned daily schedule. This includes training, supervised activity, socialization, meals, bathroom breaks, crate time and plenty of rest. Puppies do not roam freely through the trainer's house or hang out on the furniture. Monday through Friday, the puppy goes to Jabula with the trainer for formal training sessions and carefully selected socialization experiences.

• Introduction to sit, down, stay and recall

The in-home transition lesson helps the owner put the puppy's new schedule and skills into place at home. The follow-up lesson gives us a chance to answer questions and adjust anything that needs work.

A three-week weekday program for dogs or puppies who need intensive training but go home every night.

‍

How it works

The dog is dropped off in the morning Monday through Friday for three consecutive weeks and must be picked up by 7:30 p.m. The day includes individual training, structured activity, enrichment and rest. Dogs who are comfortable and appropriate around other dogs may also take part in selected daycare-style social activities. Dogs who are not suited to group activities receive individual exercise and enrichment instead.

Adult dogs

The program can be used for regular training goals such as leash walking, recall, basic obedience, place, settling, impulse control and working around distractions.

‍

Puppies

The program can also be adjusted to provide a Puppy Camp-style experience. Puppies are kept in the office area rather than the kennel and follow a structured schedule of training, supervised activity, bathroom breaks, crate time and rest. They go home with their owners every night.

The Friday lessons allow the owner to practice the training while the program is still underway, so questions can be handled as they come up. The in-home follow-up helps make sure the training carries over once the program is finished.
